Andrews University

Andrews University is a university in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Founded in 1874 as Battle Creek College, it was the first higher education facility started by Seventh-day Adventists, and is the flagship university of the Seventh-day Adventist school system, the world's second largest Christian school system. Andrews is the largest evangelical Christian college or university in the state of Michigan, in terms of undergraduate and graduate enrollment.

The university consists of eight schools or colleges, offering 130 undergraduate majors and 70 graduate majors. In addition, post-baccalaureate degrees are offered by all. It is accredited by the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA) and North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).

From the very start, back in 1874, Andrews University has placed serious scholarship, quality research and a strong focus on practical Christianity first on the list of things we think are important about attendance at a Christian university. We started out small. Mr. Goodloe Bell, a teacher, started a tiny school with only 12 students in Battle Creek, Michigan. This was the birth of what we now know as Andrews University.
