Bakersfield College (BC) is a public community college located in Bakersfield, California, USA. BC serves about 17,400 students each semester, and offers Associate's degree and certificate programs for students to choose from. BC is part of the Kern Community College District (KCCD), which is itself part of the California Community Colleges system.

BC was founded in 1913 and initially housed on the campus of Bakersfield High School (then Kern County Union High School) before moving in 1956 to its current location "on the hill" in northeast Bakersfield on the "Panorama Bluffs" that overlook the prolific Kern River oil field. BC is one of the oldest continually operating community colleges in the United States.

The college serves 15,000 students on the 153-acre main campus in northeast Bakersfield, at the Weill Institute in downtown Bakersfield, and at the Delano Center 35 miles north of Bakersfield.

Classes are offered on a traditional 16-week semester calendar as well as in a variety of non-traditional scheduling options: evenings, weekends, short-term vocational programs and online.
