Bellevue University is a private, non-profit university located in Bellevue, Nebraska. It opened in 1966 and from the outset has focused on providing adult education and educational outreach. Bellevue University has been a trailblazer in the higher education industry since its inception in 1966. Now, in 2016, we're paving the way, literally. A commitment to upgrading the physical campus to increase access and ease of use parallels the University's efforts to integrate the Skills to Performance learning model across the curriculum.
Skills to Performance is defined as education designed to drive learning outcomes based on the performance expectations defined by industry while recognizing the varying skill levels of students and architecting paths for them to achieve success.The Skills to Performance Initiative will focus on several areas:
- Degree Programs — identifying the programs that will be available in the new technology and Skills to Performance Model.
- Training — Introduce Faculty / Staff to a skills-to-performance model designed to meet and support student needs as they pursue their educational goals.
- Technology (Personalized for each learner to achieve real world results) — The University has signed an agreement with D2L (Desire to Learn) to utilize their Brightspace integrated learning platform (in addition to Blackboard) as our new LMS (Learning Management Software). Currently the IT team is working with AI to implement this software.
