The Social Science Department offers majors and course work in diverse fields of study, yet emphasizes a solid core of practical research and analysis in all of its programs. Social science students get hands-on experience with the full range of both quantitative and qualitative analysis used in the social sciences.

Social Science is a multi-disciplinary department offering the major in Criminal Justice. Field Experience pf many specific courses provide the opportunity for placement or internships in a variety of criminal justice positions. Field work positions have been available in city and county law enforcement agencies, federal and state correctional institutions, probation and parole programs, the district attorney’s office and in detention, shelter care and treatment centers. 

Students planning to enter the job market or to attend graduate school in the field of social work or human services may choose a concentration in Human Services.
