Gonzaga University, often abbreviated as Gonzaga or GU, is a priviate, Roman Catholic university located in the state of Washington. It was founded in 1887 by Joseph Cataldo, an Italian-born Jesuit priest and missionary, and is one of the 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU). 

Gonzaga University's liberal arts tradition lies in its core curriculum. This core curriuclum integrates philosophy, religious studies, mathematics, literature, natural and social sciences, and extensive writing in each major discipline. 

The university offers studies in 92 fields and 26 graduate programs.
