University of California Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley is a public research university in Berkeley, California. It is the flagship campus of the University of California system, one of three parts in the state's public higher education plan, which also includes the California State University system and the California Community Colleges System.

Berkeley is one of the 14 founding members of the Association of American Universities. It maintains close relationships with three United States Department of Energy National Laboratories and is home to several institutes such as the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute and the Space Sciences Laboratory.

For 2018-2019, UC Berkeley ranks 5th internationally according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities and 28th in the QS World University Rankings. It is 13th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 4th in the U.S. News and World Report Global University Rankings.
