The University of California, Santa Cruz, is a public research university in Santa Cruz, California. It is one of 10 public university campuses in the University of California system. UC Santa Cruz, also abbreviated as UCSC, is located 75 miles south of the city of San Francisco and along the edge of the coastal community of Santa Cruz. The UCSC campus lies on 2,001 acres of rolling, forested hills that overlook the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay.
