University of Nevada Reno

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical

The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical in Engineering and Technology is offered by University of Nevada Reno.

Program Length: 4 YEARS.

Description

The bachelor's degree program in chemical engineering teaches students to use chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics to solve problems related to the production and manufacture of goods and materials.

Students in the bachelor's degree program have the option to pursue an emphasis in one of five areas:
  1. Biomedical engineering
  2. Environmental engineering
  3. Extractive metallurgy
  4. Materials science and engineering
  5. Process and energy engineering
In addition to a strong foundation in the sciences, students gain problem-solving and analytical skills through laboratory sections and the ability to collaborate with faculty on research projects. Graduates of our program have the necessary skills to work in industry or government or to pursue graduate training.

Successful engineering students arrive at the University with a strong background in math and science. We recommend students have taken physics and chemistry in high school and are prepared to take calculus as freshmen.
