UTSA’s Communication ProgramUTSA’s Communication degree is a flexible and opens the door to a multitude of careers because of its importance in every industry. In this broad program, you’ll learn to translate your existing writing, editing, research and presentation skills into marketable assets. Developing these skills will open the door to a variety of industries like telecommunications, advertising, public relations, marketing and corporate communication.What You’ll LearnAt UTSA, you have the option of adding specialized coursework from three different concentrations: Digital Communication, Health Communication and Public Relations. Digital communication lets you explore creating, producing and distributing information in a variety of formats. You will study the principles of writing for various audiences using layout and graphic design, multimedia production, as well as theories for strategic content creation. By concentrating in Health Communication, you’ll learn to develop communication that caters to a broad range of health-related topics that could help patients, physicians and pharmaceutical companies. Public relations examines how corporations, governments and civic groups create campaigns to manage relations with their audiences. You will become an information specialist, learning to inform constituents and persuade them to take action.
